Overview

This qualification is focused specifically on the key skills needed to volunteer under supervision and can be used as a pathway to workforce entry.  Volunteering is also a great way to contribute to the community and connect with others.

You may be required to undergo background checks to work in some organisations.

To achieve this qualification, you must complete 20 hours of volunteer work.

Blueprint Career Development partners with schools to deliver this qualification. It is designed for students who want to utilize their skills to benefit others by volunteering in the local community or school environment. Upon successful completion, Queensland students could receive up to 4 QCE credits.

Schools may want to consider upgrading from the SIT20122Certificate II in Tourism to maximise the student experience.

When you finish this course, you’ll be able to:

1. Live Class 
i) Group workshop with a trainer to support and guide you through activities. Ask us for scheduled course dates at locations convenient to you. 

ii) We can also come to your workplace and deliver a customised program to meet your workplace needs (Minimum numbers apply. Contact us to discuss your particular needs).

2. Blended Learning 
This is a flexible and efficient way to complete your qualification. It may include live classes, online study, self-paced activities and webinars.

3. Online 
The entire course is offered electronically through our Learning Management System.

4. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) 
Recognition of Prior Learning is the process that is used to recognise the skills and knowledge you have acquired through personal and work experience - the "University of Life". The evidence you provide is matched to a complete qualification where possible or alternatively, to part of a qualification. A successful RPL application means that you could receive certification without further study or may be able to fast track through a qualification. Please contact us to organise an individual assessment of your current knowledge and skills.

There are no entry requirements for this course however some organisations may require you to undergo relevant background checks. These may include working with children and working with Vulnerable People cards subject to the state or Territory the vocational placement/work occurs.

You must be able to source your own placement to complete the volunteer requirement of 20 hours.

You have 12 months from course commencement to complete this qualification.

To complete this qualification you must demonstrate competency in a total of 7 units. Four of these units are core and 3 are electives. Other electives are available however they may incur an additional cost and enrolment must be approved by Blueprint.
