Are machines replacing people?

Given the rate that checkouts, online transactions and ever more labour saving devices are introduced into society, the answer is a resounding yes.  So which jobs might exist in an increasingly automated world? Let’s take a look at administration related roles that appear to be on the decline.

Computers, apps, the integration of software to streamline processes, voice recognition and customer relationship management systems have meant that fewer ‘humans’ are required to do the same or more work.  This means that administrators who are valued in business are those who are either multi-skilled, process AND people oriented professionals, or specialists in a particular area of administration, such as data analysis or customer service.

On the 10/12/19, there were 1747 administration roles advertised in Queensland across a range of interesting industries.  Clearly good admin staff are still in demand.

BSB30415 Certificate III in Business Administration qualification is offered by various universities and RTO providers and is an immensely sought-after qualification. You can pursue a career across a range of industries and businesses with this course.  Potentially you will access career opportunities such as Data entry operator, Receptionist, Office Administrator and much more.

This qualification also suits existing admin staff who want to enhance and develop their skills through the choice of electives to suit specific roles.  If done in a blended learning mode, adult learners can fit the study time around their schedule. Even more excitingly, there is funding available to mature aged workers as well as school leavers.  Check these websites out

or give Blueprint Career Development a call and we’ll help you navigate the complex funding eligibility.

If a career in business administration is of interest to you, your best bet is to make sure any course you undertake relates to today’s business environment.  You’ll need to consider if the course is fully online, in a classroom or a combination. If you are looking for positions where you deal with customers face-to-face, a purely online course is unlikely to give you the skills and confidence that you’ll need.

No matter what your career goals are, Blueprint Career Development will help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
